The role:

As our Stores & Depot Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting the teams that keep our community running. You'll help ensure the right materials, equipment and supplies are available when and where they're needed by managing inventory, coordinating purchasing and maintaining efficient store operations. You'll also contribute to a safe, organised and well-maintained depot environment, ensuring equipment and materials are stored correctly and in line with workplace health and safety requirements and Council procedures. Your work behind the scenes will make a real difference to the smooth delivery of Council services.

The position involves a variety of stores, administration and operational support duties, including but not limited to:

- Coordinating the receipt, checking, recording and distribution of goods, ensuring deliveries are accurate, timely and meet quality requirements.
- Supporting inventory management, including stock control, ordering, purchasing processes, account processing and maintaining accurate records.
- Assisting with procurement activities, including obtaining quotes, managing supplier relationships and providing support to staff on purchasing matters.
- Maintaining safe, clean and organised stores, depots and compound areas in line with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Conducting equipment checks, support facility inspections and assist with general operational tasks to ensure Council assets and resources are maintained to a high standard.

- A salary range from $1140.70 – $1277.60 per week (based on relevant skills and experience) + 12% superannuation + allowances

What we need from you:

- Experience in a similar stores or operational support role, with a Certificate III in Local Government Operational Works or related field highly regarded.
- Confidence using computer systems for inventory control, with good attention to detail and a focus on keeping accurate records.
- Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage priorities, follow processes and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with a positive attitude and the ability to work cooperatively with a range of people.
- Current forklift licence, Work Health and Safety General Construction Induction, and unrestricted driver’s licence.
