Associate Director - Recruiting Lawyers and Company Secretarial Professionals into inhouse roles at Taylor Root

The Opportunity

Exciting, greenfield chance for a senior technology lawyer to join the Sydney office of a growing and innovative organisation to lead their APAC legal function.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert advice and support to various business units in the organisation including procurement, sales, and partnerships.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS contracts, partnership deals, vendor agreements, employment contracts, confidentiality agreements, and platform integrations.
- Handle multiple deals while offering strong business and legal guidance to other colleagues, and teams internationally, maintaining a clear focus on company priorities.
- Offering strategic guidance on emerging technology trends, and their legal implications through a commercial lens.

Ideal Candidate

- Minimum 10 years PAE with relevant experience gained from time spent either in a technology/ TMT team of a reputable law firm or an inhouse counsel at a technology business (ideally both).
- Deep understanding of technology law, and experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of SaaS contracts.
- Strong knowledge of Australian data privacy laws and regulations including the Privacy Act.
- Ability to provide strategic and pragmatic legal advice, exercising sound commercial judgement.
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
