The Role

We are looking for a Senior Observability Engineer to join a high-profile program delivering a modern cloud platform for a large-scale enterprise environment.

This role will play a critical part in shaping and accelerating the observability capability, moving the platform from reactive monitoring to a proactive, data-driven “single pane of glass” view across environments, services, and business-critical workflows.

You will work closely with platform, DevOps, and architecture teams to define and implement observability standards, dashboards, and telemetry strategies using Datadog.

Job Requirements

- 5+ years experience in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering, ideally in complex, distributed environments.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Datadog (dashboards, APM, logs, alerting).
- Experience working with Kubernetes (EKS preferred) and cloud‑native architectures (AWS).
- Experience implementing observability frameworks including metrics, logging, and distributed tracing (e.g. OpenTelemetry).
- Experience defining and implementing SLIs, SLOs, and reliability metrics.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience working with microservices architectures and distributed systems.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering teams to instrument services and improve telemetry coverage.
- Experience translating Non‑Functional Requirements (NFRs) into measurable signals and dashboards.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to operate in quick‑paced, evolving environments.
- You are proactive, can work autonomously, and take ownership of outcomes and delivery.
- You have a strong focus on data‑driven decision making, continuous improvement,



and learning through iteration.

Job Responsibilities

- Design and implement end‑to‑end observability solutions using Datadog (metrics, logs, traces).
- Lead the design and implementation of environment readiness and platform health dashboards.
- Define and implement SLIs/SLOs and observability standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to instrument services and improve telemetry coverage.
- Partner with platform and SRE teams to identify gaps in monitoring and reliability.
- Translate Non‑Functional Requirements (NFRs) into measurable signals and dashboards.
- Support connectivity, dependency, and SaaS monitoring across the platform ecosystem.
- Contribute to performance analysis and profiling insights to improve system efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership in observability architecture and best practices.
