Associate/Senior Associate - Family Law

Location: Sydney (or Melbourne)

We are partnering with a national family law firm to recruit a passionate and driven Family Lawyer (Associate/Senior Associate) for their Sydney team, and due to continued expansion, there is also an exciting opportunity to join their growing Melbourne office.

This is a full time position for a lawyer with 3+ years of post‑admission experience , who is looking to develop a long‑term and meaningful career within a supportive, well‑established practice.

Responsibilities

- Managing a caseload of family law files with supervision as needed
- Drafting affidavits, applications, consent orders, and financial agreements




- Providing clear and empathetic legal advice to clients
- Attending court appearances and mediations where appropriate
- Conducting legal research to support complex matters
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Working closely with colleagues to achieve optimal client outcomes

Qualifications

- Minimum of 3 years post‑admission experience in family law
- Experience in parenting and/or property matters is highly regarded
- Strong drafting and legal writing skills
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in emotionally charged situations
- Organised and able to manage competing deadlines
- Compassionate, client‑focused, and eager to learn
- A team player who is proactive, professional, and adaptable
