$80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

A highly respected not-for-profit based in Southbank, Melbourne, this organisation champions Australian business at home and abroad. Through its work, my client helps consumers identify authentic Australian products, supports local manufacturing and strengthens the national business ecosystem.

The opportunity

An excellent 12-month maternity leave contract commencing February 2026 is now open for a seasoned Financial Accountant. Reporting to the Head of Finance & Operations, you will play a critical role in a lean and collaborative administrative team.

What you'll be doing

- Managing the organisation’s accounting system (Xero)
- Handling accounts payable, liaising directly with suppliers
- Overseeing accounts receivable, including integration with sales CRM and receipting portals
- Performing daily bank reconciliations
- Running monthly payroll, including STP lodgement and superannuation compliance
- Preparing monthly financial statements and quarterly BAS and tax submissions
- Supporting year‑end audit and annual reporting processes




- Assisting with investment management (e.g. term deposits)
- Contributing to budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Responding to customer queries related to invoicing and receivables

About you

- 3–4+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Proficient in Xero with a strong grasp of accounting fundamentals (GST, taxation, super)
- Methodical, detail-oriented, and highly organised
- Skilled communicator with solid Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Honest, reliable, and dedicated with strong customer service acumen
- CPA qualified or working towards certification
- Experience with tools such as Approval Max, Parakeet, Fathom, or SYFT
- Competence in building and maintaining Excel dashboards
- Familiarity with Salesforce, EziDebit, or other CRM/payment platforms
