As Finance Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for managing and overseeing all financial aspects of the business unit (BU). This includes leading operational finance, ensuring compliance with statutory and group requirements, coordinating annual audits, and driving budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
Working under the broad direction of the BU Leader, with a dotted reporting line to the Group Finance Director, the Finance Manager actively partners with the BU Leader to measure and achieve the BU’s KPIs, support decision‑making, and deliver strategic initiatives that enhance financial performance, business efficiency, and governance. The role requires building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives and drive ongoing process improvement.
How you'll make an impact
- Become a key member of the BU Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and provide business partnering and strategic support for the BU Leader and other key stakeholders.
- Manage the day‑to‑day financial operations of several P&Ls; and legal entities located in Australia & UK that fall under the brand of Zelra.
- Manage the month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes to stringent deadlines.
- Prepare monthly business reviews and quarterly strategy review (QSR) in line with group requirements, including comprehensive variance analysis and commentary explaining the impact of operational performance on monthly financial performance against forecast.
- Prepare quarterly budgets and forecasts.
- Provide strong financial management, support, and analysis of large projects, including review of all monthly project reports and facilitation of regular reviews between Finance and Operations/Project Managers on significant projects.
- Ensure adequate financial controls are in place and compliance with Group policies, with specific focus on correct and complete revenue recognition as per IFRS.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting requirements.
- Proactively invest in the professional development of finance team members by identifying growth opportunities, facilitating training, mentoring, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Oversee weekly cashflow forecasting,
accounts payable, accounts receivable functions and review payroll governance & compliance.
- Manage various audit processes including local UK audit and internal controls, and liaise with internal and external auditors and accounting firms as required.
- Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of financial objectives, facilitate effective communication, and support business growth.
- Provide ad hoc support to Modaxo management as required to enable effective management and analysis of business units.
- Support and manage operations within other Modaxo business units as required to maintain business continuity and performance.
- Lead initiatives to identify, design, and implement process improvements within finance and across the business unit, leveraging technology, AI, automation and best practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks to ensure a professional standard is delivered as required.

About You
What you'll bring to the role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Commerce or another related discipline.
- 7–10 years of professional experience, including at least 5–7 years in financial and management accounting within a commercial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and providing commercial decision support to senior leadership.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in interpreting financial data and communicating results effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting software/tools and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional numeric and business aptitude.
- A compliance‑oriented mindset, robust work ethic, high integrity, and trustworthiness
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and organize priorities to consistently meet deadlines.
- Previous experience in a Project Delivery and Service/Support environment is highly desirable.
