About the Role

Elizabeth Gates is a welcoming aged care home in an intimate community of 35 residents, located in the peaceful rural township of Singleton in the Hunter Valley region. The role involves working in Alroy House with two separate households, each with between 24 and 25 residents, including a secure Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia. The Uniting Homemaker ensures that the community is thriving and that residents have meaningful and enjoyable experiences.

Responsibilities

- Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to help support their independence and improve their quality of life.
- Assist with daily living tasks such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and general mobility.
- Assist with medication and simple wound dressings.




- Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Qualifications

- Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin a career in aged care.
- Adaptability, empathy and resourcefulness.
- Ability to live Uniting's daily values of compassion, respect, imagination and boldness.
