This is an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join the team reporting to the Head of Engineering. We are looking for a leader with great technology expertise and a people-first approach who can also balance between product development and engineering excellence programs. Perpetual Digital is responsible for the design and build of software products, platform services and infrastructure across a variety of cloud technologies supporting the banking and finance industry. Perpetual Digital is Perpetual Corporate Trust's innovation company, leveraging more than 20 years of experience and a market-leading position in Australian securitisation to deliver solutions to this sector. About the Role

- Guide and mentor a dynamic team of software, data, and test engineers within an agile, collaborative environment (10-15 direct reports).
- Take ownership of key system components, leading the Design and Delivery of robust, high-quality solutions.
- Strategically oversee resource allocation, ensuring the team achieves both business targets and professional growth.
- Hands-on: write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that supports continuous integration and deployment, adhering to industry best practices.




- Translate solution designs into high-performing application code, optimised for scalability and reliability across platforms and devices.
- Manage and optimise Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, driving automation for seamless deployments. Take responsibility for incident management within the team, ensuring consistent and timely resolution of system issues.
- Work closely with cross-functional agile teams to foster an engineering culture focused on rapid and iterative delivery of customer value.
- Champion continuous learning, offering professional development opportunities to empower your team.
- Inspire a culture of innovation and ongoing improvement among both internal engineers and external consultants.

About you

We're looking for someone with:

- A "You build it, you own it!" mentality
- 4+ years of experience leading Engineering team(s)
- Strong leadership and influencing skills
- Sound experience in application architecture, design patterns and development practices
- Deep technical knowledge on ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET, C# and Entity Framework Core
- Experience working on Web application architecture, Blazor framework or Angular 11, Typescript, SCSS, HTML5 & CSS3
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, specifically App Service, API Management, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Azure SQL DB, T-SQL, Entity Framework Core, etc.
- Experience with a variety of database management systems (SQL, NOSQL), data storage patterns, eventual consistency, data analytics, and reporting




- Demonstrated belief in TDD, unit, integration, performance, and end-to-end (functional) tests
- Experience with DevOps and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) operations, tooling, and practices

It would be great to bring, but is not required to have:

- Basic knowledge of Financial Markets and positive grasp of financial mathematics
- Has exposure to automation and continuous delivery
- An understanding of Microservices patterns.
