An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Contracts Specialist to join a high-performing commercial team supporting the delivery of a major capital project within the resources sector.
This role provides the opportunity to work across complex contracts, partnering with project, engineering, procurement and operational stakeholders to deliver strong commercial outcomes while effectively managing contractual risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing end-to-end contract lifecycle activities across major project packages.
- Preparing RFx documentation and supporting tender processes.
- Leading commercial evaluations, supplier negotiations and contract recommendations.
- Drafting, reviewing and administering contract documentation.
- Managing variations, claims, extensions of time and contractor performance.
- Providing commercial and contractual advice to project stakeholders.
- Developing and maintaining contract registers, governance documentation, reporting and risk management processes.
- Monitoring contractual obligations and supporting effective supplier relationships.
- Identifying commercial risks and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Supporting continuous improvement across contract management processes.
Skills, Experince and Qualifications:
- Experience working on major projects within mining, resources, infrastructure or construction environments.
- Solid pre and post-award contract management experience.
- Experience managing contracts from either the client/owner side or contractor side.
- Strong capability in tendering, commercial evaluations,
contract negotiations and supplier management.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across project and operational teams.
- A strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify and manage contractual risks.
- Experience using SAP, Ariba or a comparable ERP/procurement system.
- A background in Quantity Surveying (QS) will be highly regarded.
