An opportunity is available for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join a commercial team supporting the delivery of a major capital project within the resources sector.
This role will play a key part in developing and executing procurement strategies, engaging with suppliers and supporting project teams to achieve competitive, commercial and sustainable outcomes.
Key responsbilities:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with project requirements.
- Manage sourcing activities from market analysis through to supplier selection.
- Prepare and coordinate RFx processes, including tender documentation and evaluations.
- Conduct supplier research, market engagement and commercial analysis.
- Assess supplier submissions and provide procurement recommendations.
- Support negotiations and commercial discussions with suppliers.
- Build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
- Provide procurement advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Monitor procurement activities, risks and opportunities throughout the sourcing lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, value outcomes and supplier performance.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience working in procurement roles within mining, resources, infrastructure, construction or major project environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing sourcing activities and competitive tender processes.
- Strong capability across RFx development, supplier evaluation and commercial analysis.
- Experience engaging with suppliers and stakeholders to deliver procurement outcomes.
- A robust understanding of procurement governance, risk management and commercial principles.
- The ability to manage competing priorities within a project environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience using SAP, Ariba or a comparable ERP/procurement system.
- A background in commerce, business, supply chain, engineering or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
