WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As the Design and Product Development Co-ordinator you will be reporting to the Head of Design. In this role you will be instrumental in supporting the design team to create a cohesive and customer centric womenswear and accessories collections You will heavily involved in the development cycle of product from concept stage through to bulk production and arrival.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We're looking for a collaborative and passionate design and product development co-ordinator who has experience in the women’s fashion industry. This person will contribute to the continuous growth of Serafina through product opportunity, development,
and improvement.
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES?
- Translate trend research using WGSN, market research and historical data in a commercially viable way.
- Contribute to the design and development of monthly collections in line with the Serafina brand goals and vision.
- Communicate with offshore suppliers to source fabrics, trims and accessories.
- Review fabric, lab dip and strike off submissions with Head of Design and give comments to offshore suppliers
- Liaise with offshore suppliers to ensure samples are submitted following the Gantt Chart deadlines
- Troubleshoot sampling queries from offshore suppliers with support from Head of Design and Garment Technician and communicate with suppliers to resolve.
- Finalise Technical CADs and Technical Packs for handover to Garment Technician and offshore suppliers.
- Prepare initial set up of Purchase Quantity, Costings and Purchase Order spreadsheets for Head of Design.
- Attend sample review meetings, contribute to the analysis and development of designs and take amendment notes for Garment Technician.
- Develop moodboards to convey collection inspiration to internal Brand Team.
- Assist with styling and coordinating e-commerce photoshoots and campaign photoshoots.
- Assist in creating Merchandising guides for retail stores across South Australia.
- Review product descriptions written by Garment Technician to ensure garments are accurately conveyed for online customers.
- Support the Customer Service team with design-specific product queries.
- Perform any ad-hoc design and administrative tasks.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
- Minimum 1-2 years working experience in a similar role
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design.
- Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite such as Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Excel, Word,
- A folio that demonstrates the ability to design product that is commercial and on-trend.
- A technical understanding of product development, fabrics, garment fit & execution.
- Ability to translate fashion trends into commercial design concepts.
- Strong initiative, problem solving and communication skills
- Sound organisational skills with the ability to work at pace, multi task and prioritise in line with business objectives
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.
- ‘Big picture’ thinking; contribute to team and business objectives.
- Use personal initiative and be creative to grow the business.
