Pirate Life Brewing was founded in 2014 on a five-day journey across the Nullarbor Plain. We landed in Adelaide, established a brewery, and spent the next seven years building a brand. In that time, we’ve gone from three founders to a crew of over one hundred, built four venues across Australia, and cemented ourselves as one of the country’s most recognisable craft breweries and brands.

The Role

Pirate Life are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. You'll work across both accounts receivable and payable functions,



assist with bank and general ledger reconciliations, support month-end reporting activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

This role offers exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities and would suit someone looking to further develop their finance career.

A snapshot of responsibilities include:

- Debt collection and management in accordance with policy. Cash receival application, credit management and reporting as required to monitor performance of debtors.

- Cash paid application, cash flow management, financial compliance and payable invoice management as entered into ERP by external parties.

- Bank and credit card reconciliations, processing of journals, assistance with Balance sheet and maintenance of the general ledger.

- Month end support using close procedures, reconciliations and supporting schedules. Assistance with accruals, prepayments and accounting adjustments. Maintenance of the fixed asset register.

- Calculation and reporting of statutory obligations all while identifying opportunities for improvement of the finance processes and controls.

What You've Got

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce or finance

- Experience in an Accounts Assistant, AP, AR or similar role

- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles

- Experience working with platforms such as Xero and Lightyear

- Intermediate level skills in MS Office suite, particularly Excel and Outlook

- High attention of accuracy and attention to detail

- Ability to manage time with competing priorities and still meet deadlines

- Good verbal and written communication skills

- Previous experience in the hospitality or alcohol industry is desireable.
