Angel Paws Dog & Cat Rescue has been operating for over 10 years in North Queensland, with our shelter located in Stuart. We give vulnerable dogs and cats a second chance through rescue, care, foster placements and adoption.
Behind every animal helped is a community of staff, volunteers, foster carers and supporters working with heart, care and commitment to do what is right for animals in need. We are now looking for a compassionate, practical and steady Manager to help strengthen Angel Paws for the future.
This is a meaningful leadership role in a community-based charity where animals, people, volunteers, foster carers and supporters all matter. It would suit someone who can bring calm, structure and valuable judgement while keeping the heart of the work front and centre.
Reporting to the Management Committee, you will help guide the organisation across people, volunteers, foster carers, financial sustainability, compliance, animal welfare outcomes, partnerships and community engagement.
You will play an important role in helping Angel Paws become more organised, supported and sustainable, so more dogs and cats can find safety, care and new homes.

What you’ll do:

- Support and guide staff, volunteers and foster carers
- Help strengthen communication, systems and day-to-day accountability
- Support financial management, reporting and income streams
- Improve processes across rescue, foster care, adoptions, donations, sponsorships and community support
- Help ensure animal welfare, safety and compliance obligations are met
- Build positive relationships with Councils, donors, partners, foster carers and the community




- Report to and work closely with the Management Committee

About you: You are a thoughtful, resilient and emotionally intelligent leader who can balance compassion with practical decision-making.
You may have experience in a charity, community, operations, small business or people leadership role.

You will bring:

- Experience leading or coordinating people, teams, volunteers or community groups
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Financial awareness and confidence working with budgets or reports
- Calm judgement in sensitive or emotional situations
- A collaborative, respectful and consistent leadership style
- Confidence working with a Management Committee
- Genuine care for dogs, cats and the people who support them

Experience in animal welfare, charity, not-for-profit, fundraising or community environments would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
