About the Role

We're seeking a motivated and technically capable Accountant to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a few years' experience under their belt who is ready to deepen their technical skills, build strong client relationships, and work alongside a supportive, high-performing team in a firm that genuinely invests in its people.

This role is genuinely client-facing — you won't just be behind the numbers. We're looking for someone who is confident engaging directly with clients, communicates clearly and with confidence, and enjoys moving beyond compliance to provide real advisory value.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, and trusts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current ATO requirements

- Prepare financial statements for partnerships, companies, trusts, and SMSFs, including chart of accounts, general ledger, and fixed asset register maintenance

- Prepare work papers and year-end accounts for review by the manager or partner

- Act as a key point of contact for clients, confidently handling queries and providing day-to-day tax guidance with a high standard of client service

- Complete tax compliance work including BAS/IAS lodgements, GST reconciliations, Division 7A, and FBT returns





- Liaise with the ATO and ASIC on behalf of clients, including lodging forms and managing correspondence

- Assist with financial analysis, cash flow, and forecasting as directed by the manager or partner

- Provide proactive advisory input to clients beyond compliance — identifying opportunities to add value and support better business decisions

- Process payroll and related tasks as required by clients

- Draft client correspondence and manage related administrative tasks

- Stay up to date with tax law changes and industry developments through ongoing professional development

About You

- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Business Services or Public Practice environment

- CA or CPA qualified, or working towards completion

- Hands-on experience preparing income tax returns, BAS/IAS, and FBT returns

- Practical experience with Xero, QuickBooks, and/or MYOB

- Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills

- A strong, confident communicator who is comfortable leading client conversations — not just preparing the numbers, but explaining them

- Genuine interest in advisory — you see compliance as the foundation, not the ceiling, and want to help clients make better financial decisions

- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines

- A proactive, team-oriented attitude and genuine interest in professional growth
