Coppersmith Hotel is looking for an ambitious, entrepreneurial chef to join our kitchen team.

We're a gastro pub and boutique hotel in South Melbourne, known for quality food, great service, and a welcoming local atmosphere. We're looking for someone who wants more than just another kitchen job—someone with energy, initiative, and a passion for creating great food while helping shape the future of our venue.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a chef who enjoys running a smooth service, mentoring a team, and bringing fresh ideas to the table.

What you'll be doing:

- Leading kitchen service and daily operations
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes
- Managing prep, stock control, and ordering
- Maintaining exceptional food safety and hygiene standards
- Training and developing junior kitchen team members
- Contributing creative ideas for menus, specials, and seasonal offerings
- Helping drive the continued growth and success of the kitchen

What we're looking for:





- An ambitious chef with an entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine passion for hospitality
- Previous experience as a Cook, Chef, or in a similar leadership role
- Strong all-round cooking skills across lunch and dinner service
- Confidence leading a team in a rapid-paced kitchen
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety and HACCP requirements
- Someone who takes ownership, thrives on responsibility, and enjoys building something great
