Details: Make a lasting impact on Canberra's urban open spaces and community volunteering programs.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Volunteer Program Manager, to lead a small team responsible for supporting more than 120 active volunteer groups across Canberra's Urban Open Space network. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside community groups, volunteers, ACT Government stakeholders and the Ngunnawal people to deliver meaningful environmental restoration, conservation and place-based improvement projects.
Leading the Urban Parks and Places Program, you will provide leadership, strategic coordination and operational management to ensure volunteers have safe, rewarding and inclusive experiences while delivering positive environmental and urban amenity outcomes across the city.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- Driver’s licence Class C or higher is essential.
- White Card, Asbestos Awareness and Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention training are essential.
- Tertiary qualifications relevant to urban land management, natural and cultural resource management, horticulture or similar are essential.
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
Note: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

Please note, this position is based in a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
