Position Overview

The Assessing Officer plays a critical role in the Partners in Foster Care program by conducting comprehensive assessments of kin carers. This position requires gathering and analysing information to inform child protection and placement decisions, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in care.

As an Assessing Officer, you will collaborate with caseworkers, families, and various stakeholders to assess carer suitability and produce detailed reports that guide decision-making. The role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail,



and a commitment to child-centred practises.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are seeking individuals with a strong background in Human Services or Social Work who are passionate about supporting children and families.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

- Qualifications in Human Services, Social Work, or Community Services are highly desirable.
- First Aid and CPR Certificates or ability to acquire
- Experience in Child Protection or relevant fields demonstrating client engagement skills.
- Ability to conduct assessments using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, organised, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism is essential.
