We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated Farm Hand to join our team on our macadamia orchards in Maryborough, Queensland. In this hands-on role, you’ll play an significant part in the care, and ongoing maintenance of the orchards while building valuable skills and experience within the horticulture industry.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Orchard Manager, the Farm Hand plays an important role in maintaining and developing our macadamia orchards. Your responsibilities include:

- Carrying out orchard and farm maintenance activities
- Operating, maintaining and caring for farm machinery and equipment
- Calibration of spraying and fertilising equipment
- Keeping precise records on all operations undertaken
- Identifying, reporting and actively managing safety hazards
- Assisting with irrigation installation, monitoring and maintenance
- Planting, pruning and general tree care activities
- Applying herbicides and pesticides in accordance with safety and environmental requirements
- Supporting seasonal operational activities across the orchard
- Mentoring and assisting less experienced team members
- Contributing to a positive, productive and safe workplace culture

Requirements

We’re seeking enthusiastic individuals who thrive in an active, hands-on environment. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

- A current C Class Driver's Licence
- Previous experience undertaking practical, hands-on work on a macadamia orchard is essential




- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliability, flexibility and a willingness to work varied hours to meet operational requirements, including occasional Saturday work
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Chemical Users Certificate
