While it takes a team of over 500 people to operate GMA's three mine sites, ten processing plants, five recycling facilities, and 13 offices around the globe, the legacy of innovation and core values continue to pass down throughout each generation.

Residential only - NO FIFO for this role. GMA will prioritising applicants who have a current right to work in Australia, and do not require GMA sponsorship of a visa.

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Supervisor is hands-on maintenance person responsible for routine inspections, maintenance, fault finding, breakdowns and repairs within the fixed plant. This position will also assist and lead appropriate capital projects.





ESSENTIAL/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE :

· Maintain the Port Gregory processing plant and associated infrastructure to ensure optimal operation. Ensure all work carried out in relation to electrical equipment and installations is adequately supervised. This includes electrical staff, contractors and labour hire employees.

· Assist Technical Services with technical tasks associated with process test work, particularly electrical and instrumentation.

· Conduct routine inspections of fixed plant equipment and execute preventative measures.

· Ensure electrical equipment or installations are installed and tested in accordance with the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995 (MSIR) and maintained in a safe working condition. Perform statutory testing of RCD’s emergency lighting, lanyards, and equipment testing and tagging.

· Stop the installation or use of any electrical equipment considered to be dangerous, and report to the manager any situation that may affect the safe use of electricity or contravene the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995 (MSIR).

· Ensure electrical nominees or electrical contractors has reviewed and inspected uncertified installations and signed the electrical logbook entries on a regular basis.

· Investigate, record in the electrical logbook and report to the manager:

o any electrical shock or burn received by a person,

o any fire suspected to be caused by electricity,

o any dangerous occurrence involving electricity that could have caused injury to a person.

· Any incident or dangerous occurrence involving electricity must be notified to Energy Safety [Electricity (Licensing) Regulations r. 63] and the District Inspector [MSIA s. 78(1)] in the first instance before starting an investigation.

· Ensure maintenance systems are in place so that electrical equipment and installations are maintained in a safe working order. Continually monitor the maintenance system to ensure it remains up to date.

· Maintain stock levels of parts and critical spares.

· Maintain an efficient filing system of plant records. Manage the data entry of paperwork relevant to all maintenance activities in the Maintenance Program - MEX.

· Be the responsible person to issue permits to enter powerline corridors.

· Be the responsible person to issue digging permits.





· Perform Leadership Interaction in line with required quotas.

· The position is provided with a company supplied mobile phone or financial subsidy towards a private mobile phone it is expected that you be available to take calls as the electrical supervisor.

· In terms of the GMA values, be expected to perform a reasonable amount of remunerated overtime once approved, be available for callouts after hours for safety or production critical response. Callouts will be remunerated if site visit is necessitated after hours.

· As per EBA clause 10, be required and expected to perform any duties and use any equipment that is within your skill set, competence and training including duties that are incidental or peripheral to your main tasks or functions and duties that fall outside your normal range of duties as directed by your manager or supervisor. In performing these duties, you agree to:

o Devote the whole of your working time and attention to the performance of your duties and responsibilities.

o Use your best endeavors to further the development, reputation and business of the company,

o Perform all work with reasonable care, skill and diligence,

o Observe all lawful directions, orders and instructions issued by the company from time to time, and

o Comply with company policies and procedures relevant to your employment as established or varied from time to time.

SKILLS AND SELECTION CRITERIA | ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

· Hold a current electrical work license acceptable for corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia, or a WA Electrician's License which authorises execution of the work

· Be able to adequately understand, read and write English without an interpreter.

· Be trained in, and competent to carry out, resuscitation (CPR). CPR courses must include a physical demonstration of CPR skills and knowledge on a manikin. Solely computer-based systems do not fulfill this requirement.

· Not have any history of disciplinary action taken under a law regulating the activities of licensed electrical workers, or any non-performance of an obligation under a law about electrical work.

· Have no less than two (2) years relevant experience of electrical work in the mining industry or in other heavy industry

· In-house Nominee Certification (Desirable)

· High level computer software and hardware knowledge and ability.

· Proven Experience in the troubleshooting of electrical plant, equipment and controls systems

· PLC and instrument training/experience desirable.

· Responsible attitude towards health, safety and environmental management.
