Decrolux Lighting is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the technical design, drafting, and engineering delivery of our structural and lighting projects.

Based in Deloraine, Tasmania, this is a full-time, hands-on role responsible for producing high-quality technical documentation, coordinating design outputs, and supporting the delivery of infrastructure and lighting projects.

This position suits someone with a strong mechanical / structural engineering background and proven experience using Tekla Structures software.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage design and drafting outputs across structural and lighting projects
- Prepare detailed drawings and models using Tekla Structures software
- Interpret engineering designs, specifications, and project requirements
- Review and revise drawings in line with design updates and project changes
- Coordinate with engineers, designers, suppliers, and project managers
- Ensure all documentation complies with relevant Australian standards
- Maintain drawing registers, revisions, and document control processes
- Support product development and continuous improvement initiatives

Skills & Experience

- Minimum 2+ years' hands-on experience using Tekla Structures (mandatory)
- Background in mechanical, structural, or civil engineering




- Strong understanding of construction drawings and fabrication detailing
- Ability to interpret engineering plans, specifications, and technical data
- High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Experience in lighting, infrastructure, or construction projects highly regarded

Qualifications

- Degree, diploma, or trade qualification in Engineering or Design (Mechanical/Structural preferred)
- Relevant experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications

Salary

$80,000–$85,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Significant Requirement

This role is based in Deloraine, Tasmania — applicants must be willing to relocate if not currently located in the region.
