Primary objective
Provide high-level strategic support to the Freight and Logistics team within Infrastructure NT to achieve objectives including
facilitating supply chain capacity and efficiency, infrastructure investment, growing imports and exports, and supporting
industry development.
Context statement
Infrastructure NT is the Northern Territory’s infrastructure body. Infrastructure NT undertakes strategic infrastructure
planning and development that coordinates and aligns infrastructure needs with economic and population growth and
delivers key government infrastructure projects.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high-level project support to the freight and logistics team to grow freight volumes and supply chain capacity
across NT and deliver a $440 million program of regional logistics hubs.
2.
Provide high-level project support to activities relating to development and management of port and harbour
infrastructure and associated land use, and commercial arrangements.
3. Prepare, update, review and coordinate a range of written communication materials including procurement
documentation, databases, presentations and briefings.
4. Provide Secretariat services to the Northern Territory Logistics Advisory Council.
5. Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with a range of government and non-government stakeholders
and represent the Freight and Logistics team in cross Agency and industry working groups.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven excellent written and oral communication skills and experience in the coordination and preparation of high-level
documentation, communication materials suitable for a range of audiences and the ability to use complex databases.
2. Demonstrated robust project management and organisation skills with the ability to manage and meet competing
deadlines and achieve results, working cohesively in a small team and an outcomes-based environment.
3. Ability to develop industry-based knowledge and expertise in freight and logistics across port, shipping, rail, road and air
freight industries to support economic and community development.
4. Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and be
an effective member of a diverse team.
5. Strong motivation, problem solving and analytical skills with an ability to work autonomously when required.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
