Our teams help clients to meet their goals and address underlying trauma and mental health issues, while also developing new skills to improve all aspects of their lives.

We provide a diverse range of services to individuals, families and community education. Our services include withdrawal services; one-on-one assessment and treatment by psychologists and counsellors; group therapy; residential rehabilitation; and free education at Odyssey College.

Description:
Join the intake team engaging with clients seeking admission to our residential program and supporting them on their recovery journey.
Develop positive working relationships with clients, referrers and key stakeholders by providing timely communication, coordinating referrals, and supporting access to Odyssey House residential treatment services.

The Odyssey House Residential Program is a large, mixed gender,



drug and alcohol rehabilitation program where clients participate in either a 12 week short term recovery program or a longer term program. Odyssey House is a Therapeutic Community, a structured recovery orientated environment where residents provide mutual support.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
Conduct intake assessments with prospective clients to determine suitability for residential treatment.
Manage incoming referrals via phone, email and other referral pathways, including responding to enquiries and booking intake assessments.
Liaise with clients, families, referrers and external agencies to facilitate timely access to treatment and provide updates on referral outcomes.
Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation, case notes, assessments and administrative tasks in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
Present clients for review through the Residential Admissions Review Group (RARG) process and complete all required follow-up actions.
Participate in weekly RARG meetings, clinical supervision, team meetings and ongoing professional development.
Maintain accurate client records, manage files and complete other administrative duties as required.
Work collaboratively with the Intake Team and Residential Programs to support a smooth and efficient admissions process.
Provide clients with information about Odyssey House programs, eligibility criteria and treatment pathways.
Build and maintain professional relationships with internal teams and external referral partners to support positive client outcomes.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance intake processes and service delivery.




Perform other duties as directed that are consistent with the responsibilities of the Intake Worker role.

Skills and Experiences:

- Demonstrated experience working with people experiencing alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues and/or mental health concerns.
- Experience conducting client assessments, managing referrals, or working within an intake, case management or community services environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, referrers and multidisciplinary teams using a professional and person-centred approach.
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Demonstrated experience working within a residential rehabilitation program or similarly complex health or community services setting (desirable).
- Certificate IV, Diploma or higher qualification in Community Services, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health or a related discipline (or working towards).
- Sound computer literacy, including experience using client management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team while also working independently when required.
- Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality, professional boundaries and ethical practice.
