Are you a passionate Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse with experience in Mental Health looking for flexible agency work on the Central Coast?
We are currently seeking experienced Mental Health Nurses to join our growing agency team to support a leading private inpatient mental health facility. With ongoing shifts available across AM, PM and Night Duty, this is an excellent opportunity to enjoy flexibility while making a meaningful difference in the lives of people experiencing mental illness.
About the Role Working within a specialist inpatient mental health environment, you will provide compassionate, recovery-focused care to consumers experiencing a range of acute and chronic mental health conditions.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support consumers through their treatment and recovery while delivering safe, high-quality clinical care in accordance with best practice and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred mental health nursing care.
- Build therapeutic relationships with consumers and their families.
- Conduct ongoing mental health and physical health observations.
- Recognise and respond to changes in a consumer's condition.
- Assist in developing and implementing individualised care plans.
- Administer medications safely within your scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and handovers.
- Promote recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and least restrictive care.
- Manage challenging behaviours using effective communication and de-escalation techniques.
- Ensure a safe, respectful and therapeutic environment for consumers and staff.
What We're Looking ForRegistered Nurses
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated experience within Mental Health Nursing.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work confidently within an inpatient mental health environment.
Enrolled Nurses
- Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Experience working within Mental Health or Behavioural Health settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively under the direction of a Registered Nurse while contributing to high-quality consumer care.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 12 months recent nursing experience.
- Previous Mental Health experience is highly desirable.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current CPR certificate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Commitment to recovery-focused, person-centred care.
- Full Australian working rights.
