Position Overview

The Kin Care Practitioner plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality case management, assessment, and support services to children, young people, and carers within the Supporting Kin service. This position focuses on identifying and supporting suitable kin care arrangements that foster stability, safety, and connections to family and community.

In this role, you will engage with children, families, kin carers, and stakeholders to strengthen family connections, facilitate kin carer approvals, and ensure stable placements.



You will also ensure compliance with relevant legislation and contribute to continuous service improvement.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a dedicated professional with a background in Child Protection or Human Services who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families.

- Industry experience in Child Protection, Human Services, or relevant fields.
- Diploma level or higher qualification in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Social Work, or related fields.
- Understanding of the Child Protection Act and relevant policies.
- Solid time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines.

As a Kin Care Practitioner, you will be expected to have a commitment to cultural sensitivity and the ability to engage effectively with diverse communities. You should be prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of clients, including participation in an on-call roster.

Salary & Benefits

This position is classified under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 4 with a starting salary of $46.70 per hour, plus access to not for profit salary packaging options to maximise your take-home pay.
