Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker. The role involves community access and support tailored to individual needs while upholding the principles of respect, dignity, and inclusivity.
7 Days a week. Minimum 4 hours. Sleep over inactive. ONGOING shift available.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for community access and engagement in social, recreational, or employment activities.
- Implement and follow individual care and support plans.
- Administer medications via PEG and assist with mobility and transportation as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of client progress, incidents, and activities.
- Foster a safe and positive environment for clients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
- Liaise with family members, health professionals, and other stakeholders as required.
- Activity of Daily living, personal care and hoist manual handling.
Essential Criteria:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- NDIS Orientation Certificate.
- Current Police Check (dated within the last 12 months).
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate.
- Infectious control and prevention
- Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
- Relevant qualifications in disability support, community services,
or related fields (e.g., Certificate III in Individual Support).
Desired Skills and Attributes:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of NDIS guidelines and frameworks.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is an advantage.
