Female Support Worker Needed – Banyo

We are looking for a caring, confident, and reliable Female Support Worker to support an adult participant with a high-functioning intellectual disability to build confidence, increase community participation, and maintain independence.

Position Details

- Location: Banyo
- Hours: Approximately 6 hours per week to start (2 shifts × 3 hours)
- Opportunity for additional hours as supports increase
- Availability Required:
- Friday: 10 am to 1pm
- Saturday: 1pm to 4pm

Key Responsibilities

- Support community access, social outings, and recreational activities
- Build the participant's confidence and independence through meaningful engagement
- Assist with general household tasks and cleaning
- Support with maintaining a clean, organised, and safe home environment
- Provide reassurance, encouragement, and companionship
- Develop a positive, trusting, and long-term support relationship

Ideal Candidate

- Female support worker (participant preference)
- Outgoing, friendly, and confident personality
- Comfortable initiating conversations and encouraging participation
- Patient, reliable, and supportive
- Able to look for activities and help plan future activities
- Respectful of family involvement and participant choice
- Passionate about helping people achieve their goals and increase independence





Highly Desirable

- Interest in Pokémon Go
- Experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities

Essential Requirements

- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Current Blue Card
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Australian Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
- Right to work in Australia
