Remuneration
- Base salary in the range of $80,000 – $105,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience

Purpose of the role
The Automotive Electrician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining electrical and electronic systems across a range of light and commercial vehicles, ensuring safe, reliable operation and high‑quality customer outcomes in line with company and manufacturer standards.jobsandskills.wa.gov+1
Key duties and responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in a wide range of vehicles, using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment
- Install and commission electrical accessories and aftermarket equipment, including wiring, relays, switches and control units
- Carry out preventative maintenance and electrical system inspections on vehicles as scheduled or requested
- Connect, wire and test power‑operated components and accessories, such as lighting, audio, safety systems and ancillary equipment
- Test, repair and replace alternators, starter motors, voltage regulators, batteries and related components
- Adjust, calibrate and test engine control systems and other electronic control units where required
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams,
technical manuals and manufacturer instructions
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures, manufacturer specifications and relevant Australian standards
- Complete job cards, service reports and related paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, using the company’s systems
- Liaise with supervisors, colleagues and customers as required to explain faults, repairs and recommendations
- Maintain a clean, secure and organised work environment in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements
Skills, qualifications and experience
Mandatory
- Trade‑qualified Automotive Electrician (Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or overseas equivalent)
- Demonstrated skills in diagnosing and repairing automotive electrical systems
- Ability to use modern diagnostic tools, scan equipment and test instruments
- Current Australian driver’s licence (or ability to obtain an equivalent licence)
Desirable
- Experience with modern vehicle electronics, including CAN‑bus and control modules
- Experience with ADAS‑related electrical components and calibration support
- Prior experience in field‑service or mobile auto electrical work

- Able to follow established procedures and safety requirements
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team environment
