Experienced Disability Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our growing team. If you are passionate about empowering people with disabilities to live independently, achieve their goals, and participate fully in their communities, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality personal care, including assistance with showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, continence care, and meal preparation while maintaining dignity and respect.
- Support participants with community access, including attending appointments, social activities, recreational outings, shopping, and skill-building programs.
- Implement positive behaviour support strategies and effectively manage complex behaviours in accordance with individual Behaviour Support Plans.
- Perform safe manual handling tasks using appropriate techniques and equipment, including transfers, mobility assistance, and hoist operations where required.
- Administer and monitor medication in accordance with organizational policies, medication charts, and relevant legislation.
- Encourage independence by supporting participants in developing daily living and life skills.
- Maintain accurate case notes, incident reports, and progress documentation.
- Build positive relationships with participants, families, allied health professionals, and support coordinators.
- Ensure a protected, respectful, and person-centred environment while promoting participant choice and autonomy.

Essential Requirements





- Demonstrated experience as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar support role.
- Proven experience providing:
- Personal Care
- Community Access Support
- Behaviour Support
- Manual Handling
- Medication Management
- Strong understanding of person-centred support practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Current Driver's License and reliable transportation (preferred).
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays if required.

Desirable Qualifications

- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability), Community Services, or a related qualification.
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, psychosocial disabilities, or complex support needs.
- Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) principles.
- Experience using mobility aids, hoists, and assistive technology.

Pay: $32.00 – $35.00 per hour

- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (Required)

- Fire Safety Training (Required)
