The Role

Full Time | Ongoing | Commencing Term 4

This ongoing teaching position works closely with Junior School staff and students to support diverse learning needs and promote inclusive education. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring every student can fully engage in MLC’s Curriculum for Learning and Wellbeing, which integrates academic growth with student wellbeing.

Some of your primary duties and responsibilities will include the following

- Provide targeted support to students with diverse learning needs.
- Lead and facilitate Parent Support Group (PSG) meetings in line with NCCD requirements
- Liaise regularly with parents and provide ongoing progress updates
- Maintain accurate student records and data
- Provide staff with resources and evidence-based strategies to support student learning
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in collaboration with the teaching team
- Develop a culture of high expectations for all learners
- Provide feedback via the Continuous Reporting system
- Use data to monitor student progress and refine teaching practices
- Contribute to departmental initiatives, meetings, and skilled learning
- Attend Information Evenings and Parent-Teacher-Student conferences
- Support student wellbeing across all aspects of College life
- Participate in co-curricular activities, particularly House events
- Uphold and actively implement the College’s Child Safe Program and reporting obligations

What you will bring:





- Experience with literacy and numeracy interventions (e.g. MultiLit)
- Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
- Appropriate qualifications and teaching experience in Learning Diversity
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in student learning and wellbeing
- Strong planning, organisational and time management skills
- Knowledge of evidence-based teaching practices
- Experience using data to inform instruction and maximise student progress
- Commitment to professional growth and reflective practice
- Alignment with MLC’s values and policies
- Understanding of the Victorian Child Safe Standards
- Right to work in Australia

The successful applicant will be required to:

- Maintain valid VIT registration
- Undergo relevant police and reference checks
- Comply with all mandatory reporting obligations
- Promote a child-safe, inclusive and culturally responsive environment
- Identify and mitigate risks to student safety
- Participate in required child safety training
