Production Assistant to Manager – Position Description

The Production Manager is responsible for the overall management of the production department to ensure the safe, efficient and profitable manufacture of the Company's products. The role is accountable for planning, coordinating and supervising all production activities to ensure customer orders are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with company quality standards, food safety requirements and production targets.

Key responsibilities include planning daily production schedules; allocating labour and resources; supervising, training and developing production employees; monitoring productivity, efficiency and product quality; maintaining inventory control within the production area; ensuring machinery and equipment are operated safely and maintained appropriately; and promoting a safe, clean and organised workplace.

The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant food safety, quality assurance, workplace health and safety, company policies, procedures and applicable legislative requirements. The role is expected to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity,



reduce waste, improve quality and contribute to the ongoing growth of the business.

The Production Manager will work closely with the Directors and other departments, including Administration, Logistics and Sales, to achieve production, operational and business objectives. The role includes preparing reports, communicating operational issues and assisting in the development and implementation of production systems and procedures.

The Production Manager is expected to demonstrate strong leadership, professionalism, accountability and sound judgement, while fostering a positive workplace culture and leading by example.

The employee must perform any other duties, responsibilities or projects reasonably directed by the Company that are consistent with the employee's skills, qualifications, experience and the senior nature of the position. As the business grows and operational requirements change, the duties and responsibilities of this role may be reasonably wide-ranging.

Pay: $35.00 – $50.00 per hour
