We are seeking an experienced aerodrome operations professional to join our growing team. This is a dynamic and wide-ranging role, ideal for someone who has lived the airside world and is passionate about passing that experience on to the next generation of aerodrome professionals.
The position is primarily focused on facilitating Southpac Aerospace's suite of aerodrome courses, including the Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) course (AVISS00053), Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC) course, Aerodrome Works Safety Officer (AWSO) course, and related airside safety training.
You will also contribute to our wider aviation safety, SMS, human factors, auditor, and investigation training programs, so the role suits someone who enjoys breadth alongside depth.
As we support clients across the region, travel is an essential requirement of this role.
While this is offered as a full‐time position, we are open to part‐time, contract, or other flexible arrangements for the right candidate. Remuneration is negotiable and commensurate with experience.

About You
- Demonstrated experience in an airport or aerodrome operations role (Aerodrome Reporting Officer,
airside safety officer, aerodrome manager, or similar)
- Strong working knowledge of CASA Part 139 (Aerodromes) and the Part 139 Manual of Standards, with currency on the 2026 SMS aligned advisory circulars
- Practical understanding of aerodrome inspections, works on the movement area, low visibility procedures, wildlife hazard management, and airside safety
- Experience facilitating training, workshops, or competency assessments in an aviation or safety‐critical environment
- Proven ability to communicate complex aerodrome, safety, and compliance concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Sound understanding of applicable aviation safety and security frameworks (e.g. CASA, ICAO Annex 14, Annex 17 and Annex 19, Aviation Transport Security Act)
- Willingness and ability to travel to client sites across the region, including remote and regional aerodromes
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent), or willingness to obtain
- Full right to work in Australia
Desirable Skills
- Current AROC, ARO, and AWSO competencies, ideally with instructor endorsement
- Aviation Security (AVSEC) qualifications or experience as a TSP holder or contributor
- Audit qualifications or experience (e.g. Lead Auditor, internal auditing, or regulatory audits)
- Experience conducting or supporting incident investigations and safety reviews
