As Clinical Director, you will play a key role in shaping imaging services across the Mackay Hospital and Health Service region while leading a collaborative and multidisciplinary department committed to innovation, education, and high-quality patient care.
The Opportunity You will provide clinical and operational leadership across Medical Imaging services while continuing to deliver high-quality diagnostic and interventional radiology services.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Leading safe, high-quality radiology services across the health service
- Supporting clinical governance, patient safety, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
- Contributing to strategic planning and service development
- Supervising and mentoring consultants, registrars, and junior medical staff
- Supporting education for medical students, allied health professionals, nursing staff, and community stakeholders
- Working collaboratively within the Medical Imaging Leadership Team

About the Department
The Medical Imaging Department delivers a comprehensive range of services including:
The Clinical Director forms part of the Medical Imaging Leadership Team alongside:
- Chief Radiographer
- Service Manager (Operations)
The role is professionally supported by the Chief Medical Officer and operationally supported by the Executive Director Allied Health & Clinical Support Services.
The department is also a Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists accredited training site within the Queensland Radiology Training Network, with rotating trainee registrars and strong teaching involvement.
