Overview

Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer (Ear, Nose and Throat) – Permanent and temporary full time and/or part-time positions. Staff Specialist – up to 80 hours per fortnight. Visiting Medical Officer – up to 64 hours per fortnight. Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service seek an Otolaryngology Consultant to join our Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery (ENT) Department in the following areas:

- Rhinology
- General ENT surgeon

This position provides high quality ENT care for our community, with a focus on leading safe care, driving quality improvement and innovation, and collaboratively contributing to department growth and development within a multidisciplinary team.

We are here for our rapidly growing population, across the coastal and hinterland areas of the Sunshine Coast region. We care for our communities through Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Nambour General Hospital, Gympie Hospital, Maleny Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, and Caloundra Health Service.

Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Offers

- Staff specialist base salary between $103.79 – $131.60 p.h. plus allowances




- Visiting specialist base salary $201.04 - $238.93 p.h. plus allowances

Mandatory Requirements

- Current (or eligible for) registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Specialist Medical Practitioner, OR on a defined pathway to specialist registration.
- Current Speciality Fellowship with Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) as a specialist in Otolaryngology or assessment (or be eligible) of substantial comparability by relevant college, or AHPRA Expedited Specialist Pathway eligibility
- Be eligible for a granted Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) in the relevant speciality field and maintain currency of SoCP during the contract of employment
