- $175,000 per annum (inclusive of superannuation) negotiable
- A fully maintained company vehicle will also be provided
- Hybrid with regular travel until WKAC offices are established for base operations on Country
Position Purpose
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the strategic leadership, governance compliance and operational management of WKAC. The CEO will work closely with the Board of Directors and Traditional Owners to ensure the organisation operates transparently, ethically and effectively while protecting Wangkumarra native title rights and interests.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Compliance
- Demonstrated leadership experience in Aboriginal organisations, community organisations or governance environments
- Strong understanding of Native Title, Indigenous governance or land management frameworks
- Experience working respectfully with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal communities
- Financial oversight and business acumen
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with RNTBCs or Native Title organisations
- Knowledge of ILUAs and future act negotiations
- Experience establishing new organisations or scaling organisational capacity.
Willing to produce or obtain Police check, Working with Children and full driver’s licence.
This position is an Indigenous Identified role. Only Wangkumarra Traditional Owners and descendants of Wangkumarra People are eligible to apply.
This requirement is permitted under Section 50D of the Equal Prospect Act as a genuine occupational requirement.
