The Role

As a Field / Rig Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing electrical systems on drilling rigs and remote field sites. You will play a key role in ensuring secure and reliable operations, working alongside experienced teams in challenging environments.

What You Need

- Electrical License (valid in required state)
- Electrician Trade Certificate
- EEHA (Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas) (valid within 3 years)
- Perform Rescue from a Live LV Panel (preferred – training available)
- Physically fit with the ability to work long hours in remote locations
- Comfortable working at heights and in extreme weather conditions
- Strong teamwork, communication, and safety awareness
- Valid manual driver's license
- Awareness of Chain of Responsibility Regulations
- National Police Clearance (less than 1 month old)
- Fault diagnosis; extent of repairs, liaise with designated person for action, disassemble units and components for further investigation
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical systems such as, general, PLC and hazardous area compliance competency
- Communicate to all relevant personnel on commissioning, servicing and maintenance,



defects and modifications to minimise risk
- Team work in trouble shooting and diagnosing damage of drilling equipment, pumps, generators and motors
- Ensure the preventative maintenance program for all drilling plant, top drives, pumps, hydraulics, generators, motors, vehicles and equipment is carried out in accordance with the maintenance schedule
- Have a sound background with current drilling rig operations including camps
- Actively participate in using methods to reduce operational risk.
- Any other duties as required
- Hydraulics, Pneumatics & Schematics
- Maintain diesel/gas generators
- Paralleling switch gear
- LV - MV - HV
- VFD, UPS & DC
- Top drives, Drawworks and Mud Pumps
- Auxiliary Rig Systems
- Diagnostics & Repairs
- Preventative Maintenance

Required Certificates / Training

- Industry Safety Induction (ISI)
- First Response to Fire Incidents
- Operate Breathing Apparatus
- First Aid & CPR
- Confined Space Entry & Gas Test Atmospheres
- Wellsite Permit to Work (Holder)
- Working at Heights with Gotcha Kit
- Operate Vehicles in the Field (4WD Certificate)
- Training can be provided to the right candidate.
