An Integrated Logistics Specialist (ILS) ensures that Defence equipment or systems can be operated, maintained, and supported efficiently throughout their entire lifecycle. The role focuses on planning and managing all logistics and sustainment activities rather than designing the equipment itself.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Supportability Analysis to determine how equipment will be maintained and supported.
- Develop Maintenance Plans (preventive and corrective maintenance).
- Prepare Lifecycle Sustainment Documentation, such as:
- Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Plans
- Maintenance Plans
- Technical Manuals
- Supportability Reports
- Spares and provisioning documentation
- Conduct Logistics Support Analysis (LSA).
- Work within Integrated Product Support (IPS) frameworks.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, warehousing, and Defence stakeholders.
- Ensure equipment availability while minimizing lifecycle costs.
Required Skills
- Experience in Defence sustainment or military logistics.
- Knowledge of:
- Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)
- Logistics Support Analysis (LSA)
- Integrated Product Support (IPS)
- Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM)
- Obsolescence and lifecycle management
- Experience with MILIS (Military Integrated Logistics Information System) is highly desirable.
- Solid documentation and stakeholder management skills.
