About the role..

This role is responsible for managing and developing the client relationship function of sgfleet within the assigned State to contribute to the profitable increase of the business’s growth, product penetration and market share through targeted selling and superior client service. This position leads the Corporate relationship team and also provides local leadership to Government and Commercial team members. It acts as the State’s subject matter expert for sgfleet value added products, providing leadership in demonstrating and promoting sgfleet products. In doing so, it drives product penetration into all existing clients.

Tasks and Responsibilities..

- People leadership - Model inspirational leadership through effective and efficient people management that cultivates a strong culture of collaboration and communication that lifts employee engagement and performance. Provide a high level of expertise, knowledge sharing and coaching to improve team capability and champion a one team leadership mindset across the three customer segments.
- Products expertise - Be the subject matter expert for value added sgfleet products in the State, with a high level of technical and commercial understanding of the products and the ability to manage client demonstrations.
- Business & Financial Management - Ensure commercial targets are met or exceeded. Provide superior service aligned with the client’s needs and the organisation’s business objectives. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with the top State clients as it relates to current and potential fleet size, including clients in Corporate, Government and Commercial segments.



Develop and contribute to the ongoing success of all client Strategic Reviews and Develop highly visible and personable relationships with customers at all levels across the State and execute strategies to close relationship gaps. Support implementation & maintain strategic relationships with accredited partners, network opportunities and support sgfleet global alliance partner’s opportunities that occur. Contribute to the ongoing success of the Fleet Strategy group. Foster third party origination alliances, including strategic funding partners at a State level.
- Strategic commercial leadership - Develop strategies and implement plans for the State that will generate new business and strengthen existing customer relationships in pursuit of State and business targets and budgets. Coach, train and develop team members to identify and close opportunities. Support customer proposals which focus on additional funding and the upsell of SG Fleet’s products and services. Understand State trends in market, competitors, client demand, and manage change to products, services and procedures in accordance with sgfleet’s strategic plans.
- Continuous Improvement - In conjunction with the GM of Government and Commercial segments, proactively monitor client service standards to identify and champion areas requiring improvement. Proactively engage to identify and review areas where productivity and process improvement can be achieved. Support Quality Business systems, process, and the QA accreditation achievement.

Skills and experience..

- Solid previous experience in the fleet management & leasing industry at senior level, involving strategic client relationship management, products and market knowledge
- Client and relationship focused including proven team leadership
- Strategic thinking, relationship strategies and networking skills




- High level of technical expertise and understanding of value-added products
- Excellent leadership, communication and relationship building skills
- Excellent ability to train, coach and develop teams to reach their full potential particularly Leaders
- Ability to establish clear goals, devise plans and inspire teams and performance
- Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing, demonstrating good listening, probing and presentation skills
- Excellent understanding of financial products and expert industry knowledge
- Extensive network within the automotive industry
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce or equivalent
- Working knowledge of industry and legislative, compliance, and regulatory obligations
