Our client is a leading provider of plant, machinery, equipment and mobile vehicle maintenance services for mining industry in the Pilbara region.

Due to growing demand our client is seeking a Metal Fabricator to join there hard working and dedicated team. As a Metal Fabricator you will be responsible for all aspects of mechanical repairs.

Your role would include and not be limited to the following duties:

-Diagnosing, repairing, fitting, fabricating and welding heavy machinery and equipment mechanical parts and mobile and permanently fixed plants.

-Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements
-Select, clean, and prepare metal stock
-Cut marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
-Shape and bend metal sections using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
-Align parts to be joined using hand tools




-Join metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting
-Examine welds for width of bead, penetration, and precision
-Clean and smooth welds by filing, chiseling, and grinding

Key skills and experience required
· Relevant qualifications (at Cert III) in Engineering – Fabrication or equivalent, or a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Metal Fabricator

· Repair, service and maintenance skills.

· Diagnostic Skills

· Able to demonstrate productive work practices.
