Our client is an ASX listed mining company currently in a period of massive growth. As the business scales, they are looking for a Management Accountant to join a supportive, high performing finance team and play a key role in supporting site operations.
This is a fast paced environment with a high volume of data, so you will be someone who is comfortable working to tight deadlines and juggling competing priorities. You will build strong relationships with site operations teams, translating financial information into insights that are meaningful to non-finance stakeholders, and will have plenty of scope to get involved in business process improvement initiatives as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Reporting
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly reporting packages for multiple contracts
- Analyse financial results and explain key variances, trends, risks and opportunities
- Translate financial information into meaningful insights for non-finance stakeholders
- Support operational managers in understanding their financial performance
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes
- Work closely with operational managers and the COO to develop accurate financial forecasts
- Monitor performance against budget and forecast and identify potential risks or opportunities
Business Partnering
- Build strong working relationships with site operations and finance stakeholders
- Provide financial guidance and technical support to site administrators
- Assist in meeting contract reporting obligations and financial requirements
- Prepare and present financial information to support commercial and operational decision-making
Team & Business Improvement
- Participate in, and where appropriate lead, business improvement initiatives and projects
- Manage project timelines and coordinate workgroups to achieve outcomes
- Foster strong relationships within a geographically dispersed finance team
- Contribute ideas, share knowledge and support colleagues to improve team performance
About You
- Min 3 - 5 yrs Management Accounting experience
- CA/CPA or near completion
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with site operations teams
- Commercially minded, with strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable managing high volumes of data and working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced workplace
- A proactive, improvement-focused mindset
