The Trustee for JNK Family Trust & The Trustee for PGN Family Trust is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Kununurra, WA. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting qualified with at least one year of experience who is looking to develop their career in a dynamic and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
2. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
3. Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
4. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
5. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
6. Prepare and lodge BAS, GST, and other statutory compliance requirements.
7. Assist with payroll processing and related reporting.
8. Support the preparation of income tax returns and year-end financial accounts.
9. Monitor financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant legislation.
10. Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and government agencies when required.

Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and internal controls.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Minimum 1 year of accounting experience.
2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3. Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles and taxation requirements.
4. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks.
5. Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
8. Strong communication and organisational skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
