An established automotive accessories business is seeking a practical Warehouse Manager to lead its Townsville distribution operation.
This is a hands-on leadership role within a small warehouse team. You will be responsible for keeping stock moving accurately, maintaining dependable service standards, and ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently.
The warehouse supports a nearby retail operation as well as a group of key trade customers across the region. The workload is manageable, but the business needs someone reliable who can take ownership, maintain discipline, and keep the operation running without constant supervision.
You will work alongside the warehouse team while coordinating daily receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and inventory control activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing daily warehouse workflow and labour allocation.
- Maintaining accurate stock records and warehouse locations.
- Monitoring receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Ensuring orders are supplied correctly and within required timeframes.
- Supporting urgent stock requests from retail and trade customers.
- Maintaining safe work practices and warehouse housekeeping.
- Coaching employees and addressing performance concerns.
- Monitoring attendance, productivity, and individual accountability.
- Preparing clear operational and performance reports.
- Identifying practical improvements to reduce errors and delays.
This role could suit an experienced Warehouse Manager or a capable Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse 2IC, Leading Hand, or Senior Storeperson ready to take the next step.
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- Experience within warehousing, logistics, distribution, automotive parts, or a related workplace.
- Knowledge of pallet racking, stock locations, receiving, and dispatch.
- Experience leading or supervising warehouse employees.
- Strong inventory control and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence addressing performance and behavioural issues.
- The ability to work independently and communicate with remote management.
- Experience using warehouse systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office.
- A current forklift licence and Australian driver’s licence.
- Qualifications in logistics, supply chain, or business will be viewed favourably.
The salary range is $85,000–$90,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience. Employees are paid weekly, with a discretionary annual bonus and salary review history also forming part of the broader employment offering.
This role offers the chance to take control of a straightforward regional operation, rebuild consistency, and make a visible impact from the outset.
