Salary: $80,000 plus 12% superannuation

We are seeking a dedicated Fruits & Vegetables Quality Assurance Officer on behalf of our client. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and compliance of fresh produce across all stages of the supply chain. The successful candidate will work closely with producers, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain the integrity of produce quality while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

As a Fruits & Vegetables Quality Assurance Officer, you will play a key role in monitoring, testing, and advising on produce quality and handling practices. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for ensuring the highest standards in fresh produce.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

-A diploma in Agriculture, Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field is highly desirable.

-At least one year experience in quality assurance or quality control within the fresh produce, agricultural, or food industry is essential.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

-Inspect agricultural produce to identify quality issues, grading discrepancies, or signs of pests and diseases.





-Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance procedures across handling and processing facilities.

-Audit storage, processing, packing, and transportation facilities to ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards.

-Test produce samples for size, purity, and quality to maintain required benchmarks.

-Provide advice to producers regarding pest identification, disease prevention, and compliance with grading and packing regulations.

-Ensure all produce meets the required standards for export, import, and wholesale distribution.

-Liaise with suppliers and producers to address quality issues and ensure consistent supply standards.

-Monitor hygiene practices across storage and handling facilities, recommending improvements as needed.

-Prepare detailed reports on quality assurance findings and provide feedback to stakeholders.

-Oversee the certification and regulatory compliance processes for fresh produce.

-Train and guide staff on quality assurance protocols and best practices in handling produce.

-Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure proper handling and transport of produce.

Skills Requirements:

-Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.

-Robust knowledge of quality standards, compliance regulations, and food safety practices.

-Experience with auditing, monitoring, and implementing quality procedures is highly advantageous.

-Familiarity with pest and disease identification, grading, and packing requirements.

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with producers, suppliers, and internal teams.

-In-depth understanding of agricultural and food safety regulations.

-Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
