ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Practitioner Ngala Residential Parenting Service (NRPS), Nursing provides leadership, mentoring, supervision, consultation and management for an interdisciplinary team, while delivering quality care for families who access Ngala services

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Provide day to day support and clinical leadership of their designated team members.
2. To work in partnership and collaboration with families to achieve best outcomes, using Family Partnership principles and early intervention and preventative mental health models to strengthen their parenting capacity and connection with their children.
3. Provide evidence-based child development information and evidence informed parenting strategies to support families with their parenting queries and concerns.
4. Ensure service provision is implemented in accordance with Ngala’s Service Delivery Model and Strategic Plan, leading those team members reporting to this role to do the same.
5. Ensure practice is informed by current evidence with a focus on continue staff development.

What We’re Looking For

- Significant experience working with families using a strengths-based approach, demonstrating knowledge of child and family health, particularly in the areas of parenting,



child and brain development 0-6yrs and family mental health and wellbeing issues.
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership and using coaching and mentoring approaches to staff development.
- Ability to work independently and as a leader and member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to engage with and work effectively with diverse families.
- Well-developed analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed communication skills both written and oral with a strong focus on reflective listening and partnership-based working relationships.
- Advanced interpersonal and relationship building skills, including conflict management.
- Advanced skills in using applicable computer technology in the leadership of the team and providing client care

Role Requirements

- Current registration with the relevant Professional Board of Australia through the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or membership of relevant peak body
- Possession of a current National Police Certificate (obtained within the last 6 months).
- Possession of a Working with Children Check Clearance
