The Opportunity
An opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Systems Officer to join a high-performing payroll systems team within a large and complex organisation.
Reporting into the Payroll Systems Manager, this role will be responsible for supporting payroll operations through the maintenance, configuration and optimisation of workforce rostering and payroll systems. Working closely with Payroll, HR and Workforce Systems teams, you will play a key role in ensuring system functionality, compliance and operational efficiency across a large workforce.
This position will suit a systems-focused payroll qualified who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, solving complex system issues and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the configuration, maintenance and optimisation of payroll and rostering systems
- Managing system functionality, troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Ensuring compliance with Awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll requirements
- Supporting payroll operations through accurate system configuration and data management
- Partnering with Payroll, HR and Workforce Systems teams to improve processes and system performance
- Assisting with system upgrades, testing and transformation projects
- Investigating and resolving complex payroll system queries and escalations
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across payroll systems and processes
About You
- Must have proven experience supporting payroll systems within a medium to large organisation
- Strong hands-on experience configuring and supporting time & attendance systems
- Demonstrated experience working with Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Ability to interpret and apply complex Awards, Enterprise Agreements and industrial instruments
- Experience supporting system upgrades, implementations or transformation projects would be highly regarded
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities with a systems-focused mindset
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
