As a Construction Manager, you will take overall responsibility for managing multiple construction projects from initiation through completion. This includes ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, driving health and safety excellence, maintaining quality standards, and achieving sustainability targets.
You will lead large teams, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining profitability.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but not limited to: Strategic Leadership & Governance Provide direction and oversight across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Implement governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
Act as the primary escalation point for project issues and risk mitigation. Health, Safety & Environment Champion a strong safety culture by enforcing EH&S; standards and conducting regular audits. Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
Monitor compliance with environmental legislation and sustainability goals. Construction Planning & Delivery Oversee project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to optimize productivity. Review and approve construction methodologies and recovery strategies for delayed projects.
Conduct constructability reviews to identify risks and improve efficiency. Stakeholder & Client Management Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities. Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve complex issues effectively.
Represent the company in negotiations and high-level meetings. Quality Assurance Develop and enforce project quality plans and inspection regimes. Ensure compliance with specifications and contractual requirements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all projects.
Financial & Resource Management Establish and monitor project budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting. Support procurement strategies and manage subcontractor performance. Ensure timely commercial close-out and claims resolution.
About You
- Extensive experience in managing large-scale or multiple construction projects.
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
- Advanced knowledge of construction planning, methodologies, and risk management.
- Expertise in EH&S; compliance and sustainability practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and contract administration.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and resolve complex issues.
