About the Role

As an Auto Electrician, you'll play a key role in the electrical fit-out, installation and testing of heavy vehicle electrical systems on custom-built trailers and transport equipment.

Working alongside experienced tradespeople and engineers, you'll ensure every vehicle meets the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance before leaving the workshop.

Key Responsibilities

- Install and connect heavy vehicle wiring harnesses and electrical components
- Wire, test and commission 12V and 24V electrical systems
- Install lighting, switches, relays and control systems
- Fit and configure ABS, EBS and other electronic safety systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics,



wiring diagrams and technical drawings
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment
- Test completed installations to ensure compliance with Australian standards
- Work closely with production teams to achieve build schedules
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised work area

About You

To be successful, you will have:

- Trade qualification as an Automotive Electrician (Certificate III or equivalent)
- Experience working on heavy vehicles, trailers, trucks or transport equipment
- Robust knowledge of 12V and 24V electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- High attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong commitment to workplace safety

Desirable

- Experience with CAN Bus systems
- Experience with ABS and EBS systems
- Forklift Licence
- Overhead Crane Licence
- Experience working within heavy vehicle manufacturing or transport industries
