Experienced Welder / Fabricator

$48–$60 per hour | Immediate Start | Multiple Positions

NTS Transport Engineering Solutions is an established, family-owned manufacturer of road transport equipment located in Forrestdale, Western Australia.

Due to continued growth and a strong manufacturing workload, we are looking for several experienced Welders/Fabricators to join our workshop team.

You do not need previous trailer-manufacturing experience.

We are looking for capable welders with strong practical skills, a good work ethic and a willingness to learn our manufacturing processes.

About the position

The role involves the fabrication and welding of new road transport equipment, including semi-trailers, dollies and associated components.

This is a manufacturing and fabrication position—not an assembly-only role.

Your work will include:

- MIG welding using solid wire and flux-cored wire.

- Fabricating components and structures for new trailers and dollies.

- Measuring, marking, cutting, fitting and welding steel.

- Reading and working from drawings, measurements and instructions.

- Preparing and setting up work correctly before welding.

- Producing strong, consistent welds to NTS quality standards.

- Checking completed work and correcting defects where required.

- Using workshop machinery, tools and equipment safely.

- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area.

- Working cooperatively with supervisors and other workshop employees.

What we are looking for

Applicants should have:

- At least four years of relevant welding or fabrication experience; or

- Be a capable fourth-year apprentice looking to complete their trade in a busy manufacturing environment.

- Demonstrated MIG welding experience using solid wire and flux-cored wire.

- The ability to produce clean, consistent and structurally sound welds.

- Good measuring and fabrication skills.





- The ability to follow drawings and instructions accurately.

- A strong understanding of workshop safety.

- Reliability, punctuality and a genuine willingness to work.

- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Their own basic trade tools and steel-cap work boots.

A formal trade qualification is highly regarded but is not essential where an applicant can demonstrate at least four years of suitable welding and fabrication experience.

Experience manufacturing trailers, heavy vehicles, structural steel, mining equipment, agricultural machinery or similar heavy fabricated products would be advantageous. However, training will be provided in NTS’s trailer-manufacturing processes.

What NTS offers

- Hourly rate of $48–$60, depending on experience, ability and qualifications.

- A minimum of 38 hours per week.

- Up to approximately 55 hours may be available depending on workload.
