Do you love creating excellent first impressions? Join our customer-focused Reservations and Ticketing team as the welcoming first point of contact for visitors booking a journey on the West Coast Wilderness Railway. We're recruiting a casual Reservations and Ticketing Attendant to help our guests plan a memorable trip through Tasmania's spectacular west coast wilderness.
About the role
Working as part of our Reservations and Ticketing team, you'll help deliver "The Experience" by promoting and selling our rail journeys, handling bookings and general sales, managing cash and reconciliations, and supporting guests from their first enquiry through to check-in and departure.
No two days are quite the same, and you'll play a genuine part in making every guest's visit one to remember.
What you'll be doing
- Providing prompt, friendly and efficient service across phone, email and over-the-counter enquiries, sales and retail
- Making accurate bookings in CustomLinc, taking payment and sending booking confirmations
- Welcoming and checking in guests, ensuring their railway experience starts on a high note
- Carrying out retail and cash-handling duties, EFTPOS, and accurate end-of-day reconciliations
- Communicating clearly with on-train crew, café and kitchen staff to keep departures running smoothly and on time
- Keeping the gift shop and station facilities clean, stocked and well presented
- Following all reservations, ticketing, safety and credit card handling procedures
What we're looking for
Essential
- Previous customer service experience
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate (or the ability to obtain one)
- Clear Police Check
- Comfortable working across a range of digital tools and systems
Desirable
- Certificate III in Tourism/Hospitality or Administration
- Previous administration experience
- Good digital literacy and confidence learning new software
