BRICKLAYER (******) – Full-Time

Austral Bricklaying Services Pty Ltd is a Victorian bricklaying company providing quality bricklaying services for residential and commercial projects. We are looking for an experienced and skilled Bricklayer to join our team.

Location: Wollert VIC 3750

Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 per annum + Superannuation

Employment Type: Full time (1 Position Available)

Responsibilities:

1. Reading blueprints, construction drawings and specifications to determine layout, measurements, materials and equipment requirements.
2. Analysing and interpreting building plans to ensure accurate construction and installation requirements are followed.
3. Erecting and dismantling restricted-height scaffolding and other access equipment safely.
4. Preparing foundations by applying damp-resistant materials and spreading mortar layers as a base and binder for brick and block work.
5. Using trowels and other hand tools effectively to complete bricklaying and masonry tasks.
6. Using construction equipment and tools safely and efficiently to perform building tasks.
7. Laying bricks, blocks and masonry units in rows, designs and specified patterns while applying mortar between joints.
8. Checking brickwork for correct vertical and horizontal alignment, level and finish quality.
9. Cutting, shaping and fitting masonry materials including bricks, stones,



concrete and ceramics using power tools and equipment.
10. Repairing, maintaining and restoring brick, block and other masonry structures.
11. Constructing walls using stone slabs and large masonry blocks according to project requirements.
12. Planning, measuring, cutting, drilling and installing bricks and blocks in accordance with drawings and project specifications.
13. installing scaffolding, hoists, ladders, cranes and other equipment required for specific construction projects.
14. Mixing mortar, sand, cement and other materials according to project specifications and requirements.
15. Designing and cutting monumental masonry, decorative stonework and lettering where required.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Preferred AQF Certificate Ill, or higher qualification in Bricklaying and Building and Construction.
2. Minimum of 3 year's industry experience of working as a Bricklayer.
3. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
4. Strong knowledge of bricklaying techniques, materials and safety requirements.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
