Salary: $78,000 - $88,000 per annum plus superannuation

Position Purpose

The Barista plays a key role in delivering exceptional coffee and customer service while

supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the business.

This position requires an experienced hospitality qualified who can consistently prepare

high-quality beverages, maintain excellent customer relationships, uphold food safety

standards, and contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee Preparation

• Prepare consistently high-quality espresso-based beverages to Percolated's standards.

• Dial in espresso and adjust grinder settings throughout the day to maintain quality and

consistency.

• Texture milk to a consistently high standard and produce quality latte art.

• Monitor coffee quality and presentation throughout each shift.

• Maintain coffee equipment and ensure it is clean and operating correctly.

Customer Service

• Deliver warm, professional and efficient customer service.

• Build strong relationships with regular customers by providing personalised service.

• Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.

• Accurately process customer orders and payments.

Food Preparation

• Prepare simple café food items in accordance with recipes and food safety

requirements.





• Ensure all food is presented consistently and to a high standard.

Operations

• Assist with opening and closing procedures.

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.

• Replenish stock and monitor inventory levels.

• Assist with stock ordering when required.

• Receive and correctly store deliveries.

• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.

Team Contribution

• Work collaboratively with other team members.

• Support and mentor less experienced staff where appropriate.

• Communicate effectively during busy service periods.

• Maintain a positive and professional attitude.

Essential Skills & Experience

Applicants should demonstrate:

• Minimum two years' experience as a barista in a busy café environment.

• Advanced espresso extraction and milk texturing skills.

• Ability to produce consistent, high-quality coffee under pressure.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

• Excellent organisational and time management skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
